
2 Player Puzzle Game, inspired by Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, made for Abertay University Game Dev Society’s Freshers Jam
Rising Tensions was created by me and two friends for one of the Abertay Game Dev Society week long game jams which had the theme “You are the enemy!“. We decided to base our concept on the idea that any time there is a platformer section where the hero is climbing to escape rising lava, there’s actually a guy working in a room to make that lava rise on command.
We used Unreal Engine 5.3 to make the game, and used Perforce for collaborative source control. We decide to split production by doing one puzzle each, I ended up making a lights based puzzle where the player must press different buttons based on the current light configuration. I also worked on the environment design and the timer system
